Antique Dental Press: Patented 1901 for S.Eldred Gilbert Dental Mfg. Co, Philadelphia PA
Heavy cast iron antique dental shell crown press. Made by Wm. Sharp Co for S. Eldred Gilbert Mfg. Co, Philadelphia. PA. Patented in 1901. An interesting oddity, this device was used to form hollow metal shells that dentists used as temporary crowns. It has a double screw with tandem handle.
This is an incredible find.  Very rare antique piece of dental equipment.
