MARKED "PAT. SEP. 5 - '98" / "DODEL" / "SAN FRANCISCO"
MULTIPLE VARIABLE DENTAL TOOTH ELEVATOR W/ 5 ELEVATOR BITS
XAVER DODEL of SAN FRANCISCO, CALF. acquired patent on "SEPT. 5, 1898" for a unique and highly cutting edge variable dental elevator, at least that is what
is stamped on the classic old dental style wood "T" bar handle and also on one of the 5 elevator bits.  However, when one actually looks up the patent and gets a printout from the US PATENT OFFICE, the date cited as the date the patent issued to "X. DODEL" for a "DENTAL ELEVATOR" that included FIVE (5) different elevator bits, was shown as being PATENTED on "DEC. 4, 1900" and
NOT
"SEPT. 5, 1898."
What took place here with the date, we don't know, but we do show the patent issued to XAVER DODEL of SAN FRANCISCO for the record and it shows exactly what we have on offer.
Inventor DODEL designed his dental elevator i such a way that a dentist could select from FIVE (5) different styles of
elevator shank bits that snug fit into a specially "star shaped" brass shank hole set into the wood "T  Bar" wood elevator handle set it into place in a VARIETY of positions in the "T" bar handle.
Although hard to photograph, wood the "T" bar handle is faintly stamped "PAT. SEP. 5, 1898."  As well, ONE (1) of the FIVE (5) is
stamped "PAT. SEP. 5, 1898."
Wear is condition consistent with age and use.  Please look at photographs as they are part of the description.
