From my personal collection One 19th Century antique black painted wood handled toothbrush with boars hair bristles & repousse silver emblem. Stamped FRANCE on the head. The toothbrush appears unused with the bone head being exceptionally white & the bristles very clean. 6 1/8" long. First painted wood toothbrush of this era I have seen. I tried to determine if the handle is wood or ceramic but since there aren't any chips I assumed it was wood. Please note picture #10 is included for comparison with a previously sold ceramic handled toothbrush (not included in this auction) for style, size & bone head color comparison.
